I took a 2 days break and went to visit Chisinau together with Naomi. I've never been there before, but they speak Romanian so i thought that would not be a problem. Well, they do speak a lot of Russian too, and every time i tried to ask someone for something, they replied in Russian.
Anyway, we left early in the morning ... it was raining wt cats and dogs and from my place to the taxi we were soaked!! I was cold after, but by the time we arrived in Chisinau my clothes were dry.
We took the train from Iasi to Ungheni, and then from Ungheni we got the bus all the way to Chisinau. It was cheaper, than if we would've taken the train from Iasi to Chisinau.
The weather was lovely when we got there and we managed to do some sightseeing ... We've found a Mark Kay store, all to Naomi's delight, coz she was in need of new cosmetic products; it was even cheaper and the lady was very nice to us.
Chisinau is quite a big city ... i didnt expect that. The traffic is terrible, i would compare it with the traffic in Bucharest, but all in all, we were happy with the troley or the maxi taxi, as it took us everywhere we needed.
I was impressed with all the new stores they have there, with all the girls wearing yellow clothes, with the people being so nice. The Moldavians are very kind people... they offer to help you!!! I mean, Romanians are known as veru helpful and kind, but let me tell you, i cant compare us wt the Moldavians.
There is a big contrast between new architecture and old one ... but all in all, it is a nice city; of course you can still notice the Russian influence;
We did some shopping there, as prices are far cheaper than Romania.
It is such a shame i didnt get to go before; if i had just known!!! i could've done all my shoping there!!
Well, maybe there will be some other time... who knows?
